Basketball NSW is pleased to announce, the 2017 U16 Head Coaches for the upcoming Australian Junior Championships to be held in the new sport centre in Warwick, Perth in July 2017. Given the number of exceptional applicants the selection panel gave great consideration to the accolades and experience of all candidates as well as the future direction of the BNSW program. It is with great pleasure, Basketball NSW would formally like to congratulate the following Under 16 NSW Head Coaches:

• U16 Metro Women – Alek Horenko
• U16 Country Women – Daniel Palmer
• U16 Country Men – Will Granger
• U16 Metro Men – Curtis Sardi

Basketball NSW State Coach and Development Manager Nathan Kirwan as a strong belief within his appointed coaches, with experience proving to be a mutual quality amongst all Will, Daniel, Curtis & Alek.

“I am very pleased with the coaches we have selected for the 2017 U/16 AJCs. The selection panel was extremely happy with the pool of candidates that applied and it was very difficult to come to the decisions we have but we feel that is a great problem to have. The coaches we ended up selecting have a vast array of experience and skills but also fit the culture that we are trying to promote within our state teams program. I’m excited to follow along with the process of these teams and see how they fare at the tournament next year.” .

All four coaches embody the core values of what the High Performance Department wish to achieve. Basketball NSW is thrilled to have these individuals as head of the coaching staff, representing New South Wales on the National stage.
