These free sessions will give you a taste of all the different aspects of basketball in a safe and supportive learning environment meant to inspire the next generation of female basketballers. It doesn’t matter if you are walking on the court for the first time or a seasoned pro, all skill levels and abilities are welcome.

FIND A PROGRAMThe I AM A GIRL Leadership Scholarship Program is offered FREE to selected female players, coaches, referees, statisticians, scoretable officials, team managers, and administrators and includes a 6-month holistic program designed to encourage and inspire women and girls right across NSW.
The Aim
The I AM A GIRL Leadership Scholarship Program aims to provide additional education and specialised training to develop skills in basketball, teamwork, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of the game as a whole and in their area of interest.
After the program, all participants will be involved in a community project of their choice. They impart their newly gained skills and experiences and inspire the next generation of basketballers to achieve greatness. Ensuring the legacy continues!

The I AM A GIRL program topics include;
Each I AM A GIRL Leadership Scholarship holder will take part in a unique experience in their respective area of interest in basketball.
Co-funded with the NSW Government and Basketball NSW, the NSW Legacy Program is being run as a pilot program for the wider legacy program being rolled out nation-wide, and internationally.
The Daughters & Dads program is aimed at young girls aged 5-12-years-old and who are new to basketball.
Basketball NSW has teamed up with Indigenous Basketball Australia (IBA). The three-year agreement sees co-delivering numerous school holiday camps and 3×3 tournaments across NSW.
Savannah Pride is a sport for development based organisation that aims to skill, educate and mentor youth through Basketball in Western Sydney.
From Come ‘n’ try sessions, 3×3 competitions, clinics to courses, keep kids of all ages and abilities entertained with a huge range of great value activities.
