Basketball NSW would like to congratulate and formally announce that Sam Gruggen will be re-joining the organisation as the new Head High-Performance Coach.
Sam has previously held the Development Officer position within the company, before departing to take on the Assistant Coach role for the Townsville Crocodiles in the National Basketball League.
Sam is a well known and established commodity within the basketball community, also previously holding positions at Basketball Queensland and Basketball Tasmania.
Nathan Kirwan, head of the high-performance department is thrilled to have Sam join the team with his wealth of knowledge and experience.

He brings a wealth of knowledge and previous experience with us at Basketball NSW as well as great passion and enthusiasm for developing athletes. He is an extremely hard worker and I’m looking forward to him getting started and stuck into his role, he will hit the ground running with heading up all our development programs. Welcome back Sam!”
Whilst Sam himself is excited to return home to NSW, after a lengthy absence

Sam will commence his new role at Basketball NSW on Sunday 5th of November, at the last round of D-League for 2017. The former Bankstown Bruin’s first day will take him back to his old stomping ground, with the last round of the D League being held at Bankstown Basketball Stadium.
