Coach’s feedback – “The opportunity to be involved with the Basketball NSW I Am A Girl Leadership Scholarship run by women, for girls and women in NSW, has been incredibly exciting and rewarding. The holistic focus of the program has allowed me to reflect on my coaching practice whilst also supporting other women of all ages who share a love of basketball, in a supportive and fun environment. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of this invaluable Scholarship program.” Lauryn

Player’s feedback – “The IAAG program allowed me to meet some inspiring and powerful women. I have learnt about a variety of issues affecting girls and women in sport, such as development pathways, wellbeing and the challenges around inequality. I now have greater confidence to be myself and pursue my goals in basketball and life.” Jade

Manager’s feedback – “It has been an absolute privilege to be part of the I Am a Girl Scholarship Program throughout 2021-22. Learning from players, coaches, officials and experts in sport has been nothing short of phenomenal. To be learning and inspired by these world-class women has certainly motivated me to continue working with my association to attract and retain girls in basketball. The future of our girls is bright! I can’t wait to watch them grow into strong, confident and resilient young ladies through the sport they love. Together, they will change the world.” Sian

Referee’s feedback: “To be selected for the inaugural I Am A Girl Leadership Scholarship Program was something that was out of my comfort zone, however, being a part of the program meant I could interact and get involved in the game of basketball with other female leaders, whether it be a coach, a player or even an administrator. It is great to motivate each other, to learn off each other and to support other girls. I can now use these skills to help mentor others because when we stick together, we can do anything! ” Helen
