Basketball NSW would like to congratulate and thank all our players, coaches, referees, volunteers and parents for their assistance at our 2022 Under 12 John Davidson Country Jamboree in Tamworth and Griffith last month.
After a two-year hiatus the event was a welcome return to the Country basketball calendar with this year’s tournament seeing the introduction of Northern & Southern Jamborees with more than 320 athletes at both Tamworth Sports Dome and Griffith Regional Sports Complex.
Selections for athletes were held during the July School Holiday U12 Skills Days and helps country players gain experience in developing their skills in a High-Performance environment.
The Jamboree has been developed to provide junior country basketballers with an enjoyable basketball experience that includes more than just direct head-to-head competition. The concept includes social activities, coaching clinics, and games. The focus is not on winning, it is participatory and enjoyment of the game that is important at Jamboree. The games have specifically designed rules that cater to the involvement of all players.
