Australia’s next generation of basketball talent is gearing up for the 2024 FIBA U15 Oceania Cup, with a selection camp taking place 1st – 3rd October at the Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence in Canberra. The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra, will also host the tournament from 11th – 16th November, where the Australian teams will compete for the prestigious title of FIBA U15 Oceania Champion.
The FIBA U15 Oceania Cup serves as a critical platform for emerging basketball stars to gain international experience. The top two teams from the tournament will earn places in the 2025 FIBA U16 Asia Cup and FIBA Women’s U16 Asia Cup, furthering their journey on the world stage.
Basketball NSW is proud to announce that six of our athletes have been selected to participate in the squads, accompanied by two of our esteemed coaching staff and a team physiotherapist.
U15 Girls:

Additionally, the third and fourth ranked women’s teams from Oceania will qualify for the 2025 FIBA Under 16 Women’s Asia Cup Division B.

“This camp heralds the start of the qualification journey for the 2026 Under 17 World Cup and for these young athletes, will be their first taste of a green and gold camp environment.
“We are excited about the talent in the two selected squads after talent identification at the recent Australian Under 16 Championships in Bendigo and look forward to the camp.” said Lonergan.
