2026 GTK WARATAH WHEELCHAIR LEAGUE POWERED BY WILSON RETURNS

Basketball NSW is pleased to confirm the return of the 2026 GTK Waratah Wheelchair League Powered by Wilson, with the season tipping off on Saturday, 11th of April at Niagara Park Stadium.

Basketball NSW is also proud to announce that GTK has extended its partnership for a further three years, continuing its strong support of wheelchair basketball across the state.

Basketball NSW, Head of League and Competitions, Liz Mills welcomed the extension.

“GTK’s ongoing commitment to wheelchair basketball in NSW is incredibly important to our athletes and the broader basketball community,” said Mills.

“Their support ensures our competitions continue to grow while providing the equipment, expertise and visibility our athletes deserve.”

GTK, CEO, George Ajaka said the organisation was proud to continue backing the Waratah League.

“We are proud to extend our partnership with Basketball NSW and remain involved in the continued development of wheelchair basketball,” said Ajaka. “The GTK Waratah Wheelchair League showcases outstanding talent we have in NSW and we are committed to supporting athletes both on and off the court.”

GTK will also be on-site at each round with a marquee, providing equipment support and assistance to athletes throughout the day.

The competition will again feature two divisions:

Division 1

  • Blacktown Storm
  • Hills Hornets
  • Illawarra Hawks
  • Manly Warringah Sea Eagles

Division 2

  • Blacktown Storm
  • Central Coast Waves
  • Illawarra Hawks
  • Newcastle Falcons

Round 1: Saturday 11th of April | Niagara Park

Round 2: Sunday 26th of April | Minto

Round 3: Saturday 2nd May | Shellharbour

Round 4: Saturday 16th May | Niagara Park

The top four teams will progress to a standalone Finals Series, scheduled for 23rd of May, with venue details to be confirmed later in the season. Further information regarding finals scheduling and event details will be released in due course.

Basketball NSW looks forward to another competitive and professionally delivered GTK Waratah Wheelchair League season in 2026.
