Basketball NSW is proud to celebrate four outstanding finalists recognised in the 2025 NSW Sports Awards, announced by Sport NSW.

The NSW Sports Awards are the highest sporting honours in the state, recognising the exceptional achievements of athletes, coaches, officials, administrators, and organisations over the past year.

The winners across 12 categories will be revealed at the NSW Champions of Sport Ceremony, held at The Sydney Event Centre – Pyrmont, on Monday 24th of November.

The Ceremony, attended by the elite of NSW sport, will celebrate a year of remarkable performances from Olympians, Paralympians, World Champions, and emerging young stars who have made significant contributions to sport in New South Wales.

Basketball NSW is proud to be represented across four major categories:

  • Young Athlete of the Year: Ruby Perkins
  • Team of the Year: NSW U20 Women’s Team
  • Coach of the Year: Renae Garlepp
  • Organisation of the Year: Basketball NSW

These nominations highlight the breadth of talent and dedication within the basketball community from emerging athletes and inspiring coaches to the collective efforts of teams and administrators driving the sport forward.

Basketball NSW, CEO Maria Nordstrom congratulated all nominees.

“We’re incredibly proud to see basketball so well represented among this year’s finalists,” said Nordstrom.

“Each nominee has shown excellence both on and off the court, contributing to the continued growth and success of basketball across New South Wales. This recognition is a reflection of the passion and commitment of our entire basketball community.”

We would also like to recognise Jackson Gray who is nominated for Young Athlete of the Year with a Disability by Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT.

Basketball NSW congratulates all finalists and wishes them the very best at the upcoming NSW Champions of Sport Ceremony.
