Basketball NSW is proud to announce it has been awarded Organisation of the Year at the prestigious NSW Champions of Sport Awards Ceremony, earlier in the week in Sydney. This honour recognises the organisation’s commitment to growing the game across the state, expanding inclusive pathways, elevating athlete and coach development, and strengthening the basketball community at all levels.
In addition to this major accolade, Basketball NSW congratulates several deserving nominees who were recognised across multiple award categories for their contributions and achievements throughout the year:
- Young Athlete of the Year: Ruby Perkins
- Team of the Year: NSW U20 Women’s State Team
- Coach of the Year: Renae Garlepp
Basketball NSW would also like to celebrate Jackson Gray, who was nominated for Young Athlete of the Year with a Disability. Jackson was successful in his category, claiming the award in recognition of his outstanding achievements.
Basketball NSW, CEO, Maria Nordstrom expressed her pride in the organisation and the wider basketball community.
“Being named Organisation of the Year is an incredible honour and a testament to the passion, dedication, and hard work of our athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, associations, staff and Board members,” said Nordstrom.
