Basketball NSW is proud to unveil a new three-year partnership with Aussie Basketball Travellers, marking an exciting chapter for both organisations. This collaboration will open up new  development pathways for coaches and players, enhancing opportunities for all BNSW members across the globe.

Since its founding in 1999, Aussie Basketball Travellers has earned a strong reputation for organising tours worldwide, catering to coaches, players, and basketball fans. With over 350 successful tours, they are a trusted leader in basketball travel experiences.

Through this partnership, players in the basketball community will have the chance to explore college pathways and global experiences year-round, with a range of exceptional tours on offer. A feature of this new partnership is that Aussie Basketball Travellers will host a series of dedicated Wheelchair Athlete Program Tours in 2025, which is a first for Basketball NSW. These tours will provide wheelchair athletes with the opportunity to explore colleges that offer wheelchair basketball programs, opening doors to new possibilities and helping athletes pursue pathways in both education and sport.

Basketball NSW, CEO, Maria Nordstrom, said she was excited to work with Aussie Basketball Travellers and hopes it will have a positive impact on the community and the broader basketball ecosystem.

“Basketball NSW is delighted to welcome Aussie Basketball Travellers as our official Tour Supplier and we are excited to work together to expand our reach and strengthen our development  pathways to foster connections on an international level,” said Nordstrom.

“With basketball offering a global pathway for both our coaches and players, this partnership will enhance the development opportunities and overall experience for our basketball community. It will allow our players, coaches, and fans to explore new horizons and elevate their game on an  international stage. We look forward to a successful collaboration and the positive impact it will have on our basketball community.”

Aussie Basketball Travellers, General Manager, Dave Greenberg also extended his enthusiasm about the partnership.

“Aussie Basketball Travellers is now in its 25th year of operation and is still run by a team who have volunteered, coached & played within representative and state programs for over 40+ years,” added Greenberg.

“Our team looks forward to delivering exciting tour options to enhance college pathways alongside the general basketball experience for teams, individual players, coaches, administrators and the everyday basketball enthusiast.”

A key focus of this partnership will be the development of customised tours tailored to align with BNSW pathways, including opportunities specifically designed for participants in the State Performance Program (SPP). Additionally, bespoke tours will be created to support Basketball NSW coaches and the broader basketball community, ensuring a comprehensive range of experiences for all members.
