Basketball NSW is pleased to announce that expressions of interest are now open for a Women Only Competition Coach Course, providing women from across New South Wales with the opportunity to develop their coaching skills in a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
The course will be held on Sunday, 20th of September 2026, at Kevin Betts Stadium, Mount Druitt, and is designed for women looking to begin or continue their coaching journey through Basketball Australia’s Competition Coach Accreditation (formerly Level 1).
Delivered by experienced Basketball NSW Coach Educators, the one-day course will cover the key principles of coaching at the competition level, including individual skill development, team offence, man-to-man defence, practice planning and creating positive learning environments for athletes.
The initiative forms part of Basketball NSW’s ongoing commitment to increasing the number of women involved in coaching and strengthening female representation across all levels of the game. By providing dedicated development opportunities, Basketball NSW aims to support more women to step into coaching roles while helping create visible role models for the next generation of players.
The course also offers participants the opportunity to network with fellow coaches, share experiences and build connections within the basketball community.
