Basketball NSW is excited to announce the launch of the U13 Skills Days, an initiative designed to bridge the critical transition between the Under 12 and Under 14 basketball seasons. This program is specifically tailored for athletes born in 2012 and 2013, providing them with an opportunity to refine their skills and gain a competitive edge ahead of the Under 14 competitions.
The Skills Days, scheduled to run throughout this October & November, aim to prepare young athletes for the challenges of full-court basketball, including the introduction of shot clocks, the 3-point line, and more intense gameplay.
This program represents a significant step in the development pathway for young basketball players in New South Wales, offering them a structured environment to hone their abilities under the guidance of experienced coaches. Each participant will receive individualised age group coaching, allowing them to work on specific areas of their game that require improvement. In addition to the on-court training, participants will also receive a Basketball NSW Skills Days T-shirt and drink bottle.
The U13 Skills Days are set to take place across various regions, making the program accessible to players from different parts of the state with upcoming sessions including Springwood, Hornsby, Camden Valley, West Wyalong, Newcastle, Moss Vale, and Orange.
The program runs from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, costing $120 per participant, with the option to use Creative Kids Vouchers.
This ensures that young talents from both metropolitan and regional areas have the opportunity to participate and benefit from this developmental program. By focusing on key aspects of the game such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive skills, the U13 Skills Days aim to equip players with the foundational skills necessary to excel in the competitive environment of Under 14 basketball.
As the basketball community continues to grow in New South Wales, initiatives like this are crucial in ensuring that young players are given the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. This is a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to develop their skills, make new friends, and take the next step in their basketball journey.
