Basketball NSW would like to congratulate the following officials on their achievements in upgrading their referee development.
The gradings are used to assist in adding depth to the different levels within our Junior and Senior competitions that can allow referees to take onto the national pathways.
State Development referees are officiating at the Junior Leagues at a high level, and are those that have been targeted by their Association to take on the next pathway of their refereeing pathway within the BNSW Grading Framework. This allows these referees to be targeted or have already been on the Australian Junior Championship Level.
State level is when the referee can officiate the Waratah Senior Leagues and Junior Premier Leagues.
National Development level is identified to officiate at the NBL1, and on the pathway to WNBL/NBL. This is the highest level a referee is able to reach within our state, without being in the National Leagues (WNBL/NBL).
Head of Technical Officials, Steve Clark shared his congratulations and gave thanks to all that have worked extremely hard in working on their officiating.
“It is a testament to the hard work and dedication to all our referees that have achieved an upgrade in their referee development,” said Clark.
“Officiating, commitment and fitness levels all play a part in a referee being promoted and we would like to recognise everyone that has played apart within the refereeing pathway here in New South Wales. We look forward to seeing you all continue to officiate and progress up the ranks.”
