Basketball in our state is currently witnessing some exciting growth on all fronts. With more people and communities getting involved, we are getting closer to the day that every person in the state understands how to get involved with this great game.
Coaches play a big part in this growth and the ability for our coaches to continue their education and development will ensure our players, communities and our game continues to keep up with this trajectory.
Over the coming months, accredited coaches have the opportunity to continue their development with a number of Association Coach courses (formerly level 2) being held around the state. These courses are suited for higher representative grade coaches and are only delivered 1-2 times a year in both metropolitan and regional NSW.
“The momentum of the game’s growth continues with the sport booming. It’s vital we provide coaches throughout NSW with these Coach Education opportunities so the momentum doesn’t stop” Basketball NSW Coach Development Manager, Jarrod Moore said.
“Having coaches invest their time to learn and take advantage of the development opportunities available is fantastic for the players and communities they’re involved with. The enthusiasm and knowledge they possess and may attain could inspire the next generation of players, coaches, referees and administrators that their community, state and country will be proud of.”
Details of upcoming Association Coach courses are listed below. Prerequisites for courses include being a minimum age of 21 and holding a Club Coach accreditation for at least 12 months.
