Last weekend, the Basketball NSW Developing Athlete Program (DAP) concluded for 2023/24 with a camp at Minto Indoor Sports Stadium.

The DAP, which underpins the State Performance Program (SPP), operates in Metro NSW and focuses on the identification, development, and support of athletes aged 13-15. This program not only nurtures young talent but also serves as a platform to develop and educate aspiring coaches. Basketball NSW provides expert coaching that includes mentoring, training, education, and support.

Basketball NSW, High Performance General Manager, Brett Coxsedge expressed his excitement and satisfaction in seeing the DAP athletes and coaches in action and celebrating their achievements.

“The Developing Athlete Program plays an important role in the player and coach pathway in the metropolitan region in NSW. It was great having everyone under the one roof at Minto. The athletes worked hard on the day under the guidance of our very committed DAP coaching staff.” said Coxsedge.

“We look forward to seeing them continue to grow and succeed in the sport in the near future.”

Basketball NSW would like to congratulate the 164 athletes on their success in the program and wish them all the best on their basketball journey moving forward. Additionally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the loyal band of hard working coaches who have supported the program over the past year.
