During the FIBA Women’s World Cup, the Basketball NSW Dream Hoops 1000 activation supported by MKTG was a feature at the Sydney Superdome driving donations and supporting young fans to write their dreams out on the ‘dream wall’.
Dream Hoops 1000 is a program that has been set up to provide financial assistance grants to young people who would like to play basketball for the first time but are unable due to financial restraints. The program works with families to assist in providing registration fees, games fees, uniforms and gear expenses.
Outside the Sydney Superdome, the Dream Hoops 1000 marquee was set up to entice young fans to write their dreams (big or small) on our walls. When dreams or goals are written down you are more likely to intellectually engage and emotionally connect with the result of the goal you want to achieve.
We are excited to share that we collected over 900+ dreams on our dream wall.

During the tournament, we also drove donations to the Basketball NSW Foundation through QR codes and various social media platforms to help reach the goal of 1000 grants for 1000 kids and the community have been very generous. MKTG also made a very generous donation of $10,000 during the half-time shooting competition at the quarterfinals.
Basketball NSW would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that visited us during the #FIBAWWC and wrote their dreams out as well us donating to our foundation.
The grant application process will commence in October, more information on how to apply for the funding will be announced soon.
