EMERGING ROLLERS NAMED FOR 2025 KITAKYUSHU CHAMPIONS CUP

Basketball Australia has announced the Emerging Rollers men’s wheelchair basketball team set to compete at the 2025 Kitakyushu Champions Cup in Japan from 7th–9th November.

Basketball NSW extends its congratulations to Jarrod Emeny and Jackson Grey on their selection to represent Australia at this prestigious international event.

Now entering its 22nd year, the Kitakyushu Champions Cup continues to play a key role in developing the next generation of wheelchair basketball talent. The tournament will feature elite pathway athletes from around the world, including three national teams and eight Japanese club sides.

The Emerging Rollers will open their campaign with a friendly against Japanese club side Kinki, before taking on powerhouse nations Japan and the Netherlands in group play. For this next generation of athletes, the event represents a vital step in Australia’s high-performance pathway, providing valuable international experience on the global stage.

Beyond competition, the team will participate in school visits and community engagement activities throughout Kitakyushu, further strengthening international connections through sport.

All games will be livestreamed between 7th–9th November, with fixtures and results available via the event’s YouTube channel and the Rollers’ Instagram page.
