Basketball NSW is pleased to confirm that the official fixtures for the 2026 Waratah League season are now available via Basketball Connect.
The 2026 season will tip off on 21st–22nd of March, with senior and youth representative teams across New South Wales returning to competition.
The 2026 Waratah League will feature the following divisions:
- Waratah Men SOUTH | NORTH
- Waratah Women
- Waratah Youth League 1 Men
- Waratah Youth League 2 Men A | B | C | D
- Waratah Youth League 1 Women
- Waratah Youth League 2 Women
A key change for 2026 will see both Waratah Men and Youth League 2 Men adopt conference-based formats.
Waratah Men will now operate across two geographic conferences: North and South. The updated structure is designed to strengthen regional matchups, reduce travel demands and maintain competitive balance across the regular season.
Youth League 2 Men will move to a performance-based conference model, with teams placed into Pools A, B, C and D based on competition outcomes. This format aims to ensure balanced competition and clear progression opportunities within the division.
There will also be an adjustment to the Finals Series structure in 2026. All divisions will host their own Semi Finals at home venues, recognising regular season performance and rewarding higher-placed teams.
The season will conclude with a centralised Grand Final Day on Saturday, 22nd of August at Sutherland Basketball Stadium, where all Waratah League Grand Finals will be played across one venue.
Further details regarding scheduling and ticketing will be released closer to the event.
Basketball NSW is also pleased to share that the GTK Waratah Wheelchair League Powered by Wilson fixture has also been announced, CLICK HERE for more information.
More information regarding the Masters Leagues will be shared in the coming months.
Wilson will continue as the Official Game Ball Partner of the Waratah League in 2026. The Wilson game ball will once again be used across all divisions and is available for purchase at leading sporting retailers or via Wilson’s website HERE.
