Basketball NSW congratulates four athletes from across the state who have been selected to participate in the inaugural She Hoops Cup, to be held in Melbourne from 5th–8th July.

Representing New South Wales among the nation’s top emerging talent are Tessa Fagan (Manly Warringah Sea Eagles), Hayley De Friskbom (Maitland Mustangs), Emma Rojas (Penrith Panthers) and Jazzy Gordon (Dubbo Rams), who have all earned selection for the national development program.

The She Hoops Cup is a new national initiative designed to provide a unique development opportunity for emerging female athletes, bringing together some of Australia’s leading Under 18 basketball players.

Held in conjunction with the Australian Opals’ international series against China, the program combines high-quality coaching, leadership development and exposure to the national team environment.

More than just a tournament, the inaugural She Hoops Cup celebrates the future of women and girls in basketball. The event is led by female coaches progressing through Australia’s coaching pathways, officiated by emerging female officials and supported by elite mentors, creating an environment that develops the next generation of athletes, coaches and officials

The She Hoops Cup will culminate on Tuesday, 7th of July, before the Australian Opals take on China in Melbourne.

Fans can experience a full afternoon of basketball by watching the She Hoops Cup before cheering on the Australian Opals against China.
