Basketball NSW has teamed up with Indigenous Basketball Australia to co-deliver numerous free basketball camps and introduction to basketball coaching clinics across NSW this upcoming school holidays.

Targeted at the grass roots level and appropriate for ages 7-21 years of age, these school holiday camps will give participants a chance to hone their skills and learn from the best in the state no matter if they are just starting out or know their way around a basketball court.

These one-day coaching clinics are also suitable for all ages & skill levels, a great way to learn the fundamentals of coaching in an introductory environment.

Established to overcome the many challenges and barriers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people face in the current Australian basketball systems and structures, these camps and clinics will assist in the further development of community outcomes in NSW. As both the day camps and clinics are aimed at participants that may never have had the opportunity to partake in the sport, they will learn the basic fundamental skills and rules of the game from other coaches’ experiences and give all participants a head start on their basketball coaching/playing career.

Camp participants will need to bring a packed lunch and drink bottle and clinic partakers will also need to bring a notepad/pen. Get in now as spaces are limited.

This program is a part of the overall NSW Legacy Program Pillars, which includes:
→ Female Leadership Scholarship Program.
→ Education and participation programs delivered in partnership with Indigenous Basketball Australia and Savannah Pride.
→ Delivery of a basketball-specific ‘Daughters and Dads’ program.
→ Delivery of culturally specific ‘Daughters and Dads’ program delivered in partnership with Savannah Pride.
→ School holidays programs delivered state-wide.
→ 3×3 Basketball Tournaments delivered state-wide.

A number of activations will be rolled out each year leading up to the FIBA Women’s World Basketball Cup 2022.
