The Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 East Draw is here, and boy, are we in for another season of insane NBL1 East basketball, with over 325 games of basketball to be played across the league’s fifth season.
Following an unprecedented season of growth in 2025, the year ahead is set to deliver even more outstanding basketball across NSW, with the rumour mill running rife as premier basketball talent look to hit the East hardwood.
From the country towns of Albury and Maitland, to the beaches of Sutherland and Manly; from the home of the National Champions in Canberra and the coastal heartlands of Newcastle and Illawarra, all the way to the bright lights of Sydney, season 2026 is set to deliver on and off the court.
Last year’s champions, the Canberra Gunners (Men) and Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (Women), will be in the exact same building to tip off season 2026, with both associations taking each other head-on at Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday, the 28th of March.
The Gunners will have to wait a week to throw their own banner ceremony, as home fans will get their first glimpse of their team (and that second banner) on Saturday, the 11th of April, when they take on the squad they defeated in the Grand Final, the Illawarra Hawks.
Anzac Round (24th–26th April), Heritage Round (30th–31st May), and First Nations Round (4th–5th July) will once again return, with a range of custom team jerseys and celebrations taking place across those weekends.
