Basketball NSW is today excited to announce the two new program managers joining our senior competitions next year are Jonathon Parkinson (NBL1 East) and Steve Nicholls (Waratah League).
Both Parkinson & Nicholls will work together to ensure that all NBL1 East & Waratah Senior League games are appropriately rostered and co-ordinate all officials during the 2022 season.
As part of the role, they will also liaise with the BNSW Referee Instructor Program Manager, Albert Joseph to facilitate ongoing training and feedback for all officials.
Hailing from Norths Basketball Association, Parkinson will look to lead the officials into the new era of the NBL1 East, after several years of officiating in our leagues himself.
Nicholls will be facing his fifth year in the position as a long-standing member of the Hills Basketball Association and BNSW officiating community.
Basketball NSW, Head of Technical Officials, Steve Clark expressed his gratitude to the recruits to help engage the BNSW referee community and to drive development within their peer groups.
“It is fantastic to have both Jonathon & Steve as part of our NBL1 East and Spalding Waratah Senior League, their expertise will be invaluable to the running of our senior competitions,” said Clark.
“With their assistance in the officiating space, we hope that we can build upon our already talented referees and provide further clarity and feedback to propel their development across all facets of the senior competition.”
