NEW SOUTH WALES BASKETBALL
New South Wales Basketball is the governing body of basketball in the state of NSW, Australia. Our vision is to unite communities, by enabling the participants of our game to realise their potential through every level of the game of Basketball.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Officiating Programs Coordinator will assist the Head of Technical Officials in the successful, effective and efficient management of the officiating high performance development programs. The role will assist the facilitation of the education of referee instructors and coaches and will work in conjunction with the Technical Officials Development Officer in identifying talented officials and guiding them through the officiating pathway.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Coordinate the delivery of programs for high performance officials
- Co-development of the annual high performance officials program in conjunction with the Head of Technical Officials
- Directing volunteer coaches in how the programs should be run
- Quality control of programs
- Building and co-ordinating dedicated female referee program
- Facilitate efficient education of referee instructors and referee coaches
- Support Technical Officials Development Officer in the delivery of other technical official programs
- Talent Identification
- Assist in the development of programs for the other technical officials such as score bench.
- Attendance of events involving high performance officials
- Metro and regional association visits

ARE YOU INVOLVED IN OTHER BASKETBALL ACTIVITIES?
If yes that’s great and we encourage our staff to be actively involved in the game in other capacities, such as coaching, being a team manager, refereeing right through to just being a fan.
We get it and we understand it, as basketball runs through the veins for a lot of our staff members.
The successful applicant can continue to undertake these activities in their own time, but this must be disclosed at the time for applying for the role and must not present conflicts of interest in this role.

However, before accepting any such position(s), you will need to gain approval from Basketball NSW first. You may be required to demonstrate that the position(s) will not in any way interfere with your employment and will in no way create a conflict of interest between the external position and your role at Basketball NSW.
If permission to undertake the requested appointment is granted, and will require leave, the only form of leave from duties that will be made available to undertake is either annual leave or leave without pay.

Overtime is not paid in this position. Pre-approved, time off in lieu of overtime is offered.
