Basketball NSW is proud to announce that four athletes from New South Wales have been named in the Australian squads for the inaugural 2025 IWBF 3×3 World Championships, set to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa from 1–3 August 2025.

Congratulations to the selected NSW representatives: Hannah Dodd, Georgia Munro-Cook, Luke Pople & Maryanne Latu (selected as the Travelling Reserve)

This historic event marks the first-ever 3×3 World Championship hosted by the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF). The championship will welcome 23 international teams, 15 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams, who will compete in this fast-paced and dynamic format of wheelchair basketball.

Australia will field both men’s and women’s teams, with high hopes and strong rosters heading into the competition.

Men’s Team – Pool B
Australia has been drawn into Pool B alongside Portugal, United Arab Emirates, Kenya, and Canada.

Women’s Team – Pool A
The Australian women’s team will face South Africa, Great Britain, and Switzerland.

The tournament format will see the top-performing men’s teams from each pool advance to the knockout rounds, while the top two women’s teams in each group will qualify for the semi-finals.

All games from the 2025 IWBF 3×3 World Championships will be livestreamed via the IWBF YouTube channel.
