Media Release: Basketball Australia
Two of New South Wales’ emerging basketball talents have taken an exciting next step in their development, earning scholarships with Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
Riley Saville (Illawarra Hawks) and Samson Nathan (Newcastle Falcons/Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Spiders) are among six athletes from across Australia selected to join the CoE Men’s program under Head Coach Michael Czepil.
The Centre of Excellence has a proud history of developing some of Australia’s leading basketball talent, providing emerging athletes with a high-performance daily training environment as they continue their progression towards the professional and international levels of the game.
Both Saville and Nathan represented NSW Country at this year’s Foot Locker U18 National Championships, competing against some of the country’s best emerging junior talent.
Basketball NSW congratulates Riley and Samson, their families, coaches and associations on this outstanding achievement and wishes both athletes all the best as they begin the next chapter of their basketball journeys at the Centre of Excellence.
