Basketball NSW is pleased to confirm the selection of NSW referees, referee coaches, a Technical Officials Commissioner, and a team of statistics and scoretable officials who will represent New South Wales at the 2026 Under 20 & Ivor Burge Foot Locker National Championships.
Held in Ballarat, Victoria, from 27 January to 1 February 2026, the Championships will take place at Selkirk Stadium and bring together the country’s leading emerging athletes, coaches, and officials in one of the most demanding environments on the national calendar.
The tournament represents a significant appointment opportunity for Technical Officials, requiring consistency, composure, and decision-making under pressure across multiple days of elite-level competition. It also provides an important development platform, allowing referees, referee coaches to refine their craft and gain valuable feedback in a national setting.
Basketball NSW, Head of Technical Officials, Steve Clark, said selection to officiate at Nationals reflects sustained effort of our group of officials.
“Appointments to National Championships are earned and they reflect months and years of consistent performance and a commitment to the standard expected at the highest level,” said Clark.
“For all of our officials, this event is a genuine test of skill and concentration. The pace, intensity, and expectations are high, and that’s exactly what makes it such a valuable experience. We’re proud of the group selected to represent NSW. They’ll not only contribute to the success of the Championships, but continue strengthening the officiating pathway across our state by setting a clear benchmark of professionalism and preparation.”
