Basketball NSW athletes have been recognised for their impact both on and off the court at the 2026 Foot Locker Under-18 and National Junior Wheelchair Championships, held in Brisbane earlier in the month.

Presented by Ford Australia in partnership with Basketball Australia, the awards celebrate leadership, character and contribution to the game across a number of categories.

NSW Country Under-18 Girls representative Jazzy Gordon was named the female recipient of the Built Tough Award, recognising her resilience, grit and consistent commitment throughout the championships.

In the Building Together Award, NSW Country Under-18 Boys athlete Samson Nathan was acknowledged for his team-first approach and ability to support and elevate those around him.

The All-Rounder Award was presented to NSW Junior Wheelchair athlete Ethan Hallak, highlighting his positive influence both on and off the court, as well as his role in shaping strong team culture through leadership and versatility.

Basketball NSW, General Manager of Performance Pathways, Brett Coxsedge, said the recognition reflects the strength of character within the state’s high performance programs.

“Jazzy, Samson and Ethan have each demonstrated the qualities we value highly within our pathways and our BLUES Culture,” Coxsedge said.

“To see them recognised on a national stage for not just their performance, but the way they represent the game, is something our entire basketball community can be proud of.”

These awards form part of a broader recognition program celebrating individuals who embody the values of Australian basketball, including sportsmanship, inclusivity and leadership. All recipients received a medal along with an Australian basketball prize pack featuring a backpack, towel and cap.

Basketball NSW congratulates Jazzy, Samson and Ethan on their achievements and their contribution to the game at a national level.

Basketball Australia thanks Ford Australia for its continued support of the Foot Locker Under-18 and National Junior Wheelchair Championships.
