Basketball NSW is proud to share the following referees who have been selected to officiate at the 2023 East Coast Challenge (ECC).
The ECC is a unique development opportunity for not only players but for coaches and referees by taking them out of their comfort zone by exposing them to state and national level talented teams. It aims to create positive challenges for referees as they need to become accustomed to the standard required to officiate at an Australian Junior Championship.
Basketball NSW, Programs Officiating Coordinator, Helen Rosenberg said she was excited to see so many talented and eager officials ready to take the court next week.
“This tournament is a great way for the referees to develop their skills in preparing for both Senior Leagues competitions such as our Spalding Waratah Leagues & Coles Express NB1 East,” said Rosenberg.
“The recently nominated officials for the U20’s Australian Junior Championships are preparing for their upcoming nationals in February, and with the remaining officials, they are hoping to gain some insights on their pathway onto the NBL1 3PO training from their attendance at the East Coast Challenge.”
“Basketball NSW is hopeful to continue this pathway for all officials within the state to help them with their refereeing journey in the years to come, congratulations to all.”
