Weather Alert: Northern Eastern Junior League Round Rescheduled
Basketball NSW is closely monitoring the severe weather conditions associated with Category Two Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The cyclone is forecast to make landfall along the southeast Queensland coast late Thursday night or early Friday, bringing potentially dangerous conditions.
According to meteorologists, the cyclone may result in:
- Abnormally High Tides
- Damaging Wind Gusts
- Heavy to Intense Rainfall
- Potential for Dangerous & Life-Threatening Flash Flooding
Given the unpredictable nature of the storm and the potential risks to travel and safety, Basketball NSW has made the decision to reschedule the Northern Eastern Junior League round, originally set for March 8-9. The new date for this round will be 28th/29th of June, 2025.
The safety of our players, officials, staff, and spectators remains our top priority, and we appreciate the understanding of all teams, families, and stakeholders affected by this decision.
Other events scheduled for this week/weekend are:
- SPP morning sessions in Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour & Port Macquarie are cancelled.
- SPP Muster Camp scheduled to be held in Niagara Park will proceed. Athletes, Coaches from impacted are are excused from attending.
