The 2024 Talented Athlete Program (TAP) has wrapped up for the year with the second camp in two weeks being held this past week at Camellia Indoor Sports Centre. With the U14 age group showcasing their skills last week, it was the U13 age group’s to be on display this week.
Again, 100 athletes from both country and metro were put through their paces on court over three-days of intense training. Off-court educational sessions as well as practical recovery activities also complimented the on-court sessions.
Basketball NSW, General Manager of Coaching and Development, Brett Coxsedge was complimentary of what he saw this week at the U13 camp.
“It was great having the opportunity to work with the U13 age group for this past week as it really was the first opportunity for us to have both country and metro athletes in this age group together in a camp environment,” said Coxsedge.
“The enthusiasm and excitement that the kids brought to camp, mixed with the desire of the coaching staff to work hard to make a difference with every athlete made the camp a huge success.”
Basketball NSW would like to again thank all those responsible for making this and next week’s TAP camps a success. This includes Karen Haddad (Performance Psychologist), Adam Messenger from Momentum Physiotherapy and Health Services, the staff at Camellia Indoor Sports Centre as well as the following coaching staff who passed on their expertise to the athletes on court.
