At the end of 2021, the Basketball NSW Foundation launched the ‘Pay it Forward’ campaign to raise much-needed funds for the Dream Hoops 1000 program.
We were blown away by the support of our basketball community.
Over 450 donors have started our journey to providing financial assistance to 1000 young people in financial need to play basketball for the first time.
The Dream Hoops 1000 program works with young people and their families to overcome the financial barrier they face in playing basketball by providing a financial voucher towards registration fees, games fees or uniforms. Yet, it does so much more than just provide financial assistance; it tells young people that we believe they belong in our community.
Basketball NSW CEO Maria Nordstrom said she was blown away by the support for the campaign.
“On behalf of the Board and Basketball NSW, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude and thanks to every donor who assisted us with our ‘Pay it Forward’ campaign,” said Nordstrom.
“This monetary support will go a long way in enriching the lives of our future ballers to help pursue their dreams and aspirations.”
