Media Release: Basketball Australia
Basketball NSW is proud to acknowledge the selection of two NSW athletes to Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence (CoE), with Curtis Evic and Antonio Browne set to relocate to Canberra as part of the men’s program. Curtis and Antonio will be joining fellow NSW athlete Flynn Pavely (Manly Sea Eagles).
Both athletes, who hail from the Bankstown Bruins and the NSW Metro program, will join an exciting group of emerging talent at the CoE, further strengthening NSW’s representation within Australia’s high-performance pathway.
Curtis Evic arrives at the Centre of Excellence following a strong start to 2026, most recently claiming a gold medal with the NSW Under 20 Men’s team at the Foot Locker National Championships last week.
Antonio Browne will also join the program after being selected to represent the NSW Metro Under 18 Boys team, which is set to compete at the National Championships in April.
The Centre of Excellence plays a critical role in developing Australia’s next generation of elite basketballers, providing daily access to world-class coaching, facilities and competition. The selection of both players is a testament to the strength of NSW pathways and the work being done across associations, coaches and programs to support athlete development.
Basketball NSW congratulates Curtis and Antonio on this significant milestone.
