Basketball NSW is saddened with the news of the death of Ted Weston; Ted passed away on Tuesday 1st December 2020.
Ted was well known within the basketball circles with his tireless work as a coach in developing juniors within the Illawarra region; he was also the former head coach of the Hawks (NBL) in 1985.
A life member of Basketball Illawarra and a mentor for Hawks legend Gordie McLeod, Weston will be remembered as one of the great contributors to basketball in the Illawarra region.
At the State level, Ted coached numerous NSW State teams, U16 Men in ’69, ’70 and ’71, U18 Men in ’72, Country U20 Men in ’74 and Country U18 Men in ’78.
Ted was also involved with the Sutherland Basketball Association and was a Regional Development Manager for Basketball NSW in the late ’90s.
Ted was a great ambassador to our sport.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend the Funeral Service for TED to be held in the Northcliffe Chapel of Hansen and Cole Funerals, 634 Northcliffe Drive, KEMBLA GRANGE on Thursday 10th December 2020 commencing at 10.00 am.
