Basketball NSW, CEO, Maria Nordstrom, was excited by the recent WestInvest funding announcements and hopes that the facilities will assist in growing the game in Western Sydney.
“Infrastructure for basketball and sports, in general, is critical in promoting physical and mental well-being as well as a safe space for all to continue to develop their skills,” said Nordstrom.
“Basketball is hugely popular in Western Sydney; however, there is currently a lack of facilities that support this growth, and many of our kids miss out on playing the game that they love. The recent funding from WestInvest will help ensure that everyone from Western Sydney won’t miss out on hitting the court.”
“We’d like to thank the NSW State Government for their continued support as we work together to promote the game across the state.”
The WestInvest Program is funding transformational infrastructure projects that will enhance communities throughout Western Sydney. These projects will improve the liveability of communities and support economic recovery, making a real difference to the quality of life in 15 eligible Local Government Areas.
