Thanks to the 3×3 Community Hustle initiative, Basketball NSW were able to visit some of our remote regional communities across the state last December. During the week-long road trip, BNSW facilitated clinics in Moree, Lightning Ridge, Brewarrina and Narrabri.

Each school received a full day of clinics rotating their year groups through various sessions to give their students a taste of what 3×3 is all about. For some students, it was their first experience of basketball, while for others it was an opportunity to put their skills to the test in the fast pace ½ court version of the sport and find out some of the differences in the rules from the traditional game. Students took part in a range of activities from skills to gameplay, all enjoying themselves and the competition against their classmates.

While at Brewarrina, BNSW also had the pleasure of hosting Weilmoringle Public School, a small school from over an hour north who relished the opportunity to be involved in the clinics. These students got involved in everything and took away some new ideas they are able to utilise back at home.

Each school was also gifted equipment thanks to Basketball Australia & 3×3 Community Hustle to add to their supplies and to provide further opportunities for their students in the future.

We’d like to thank the schools involved for their participation and are looking forward to continuing the relationships to provide more opportunities to run our free 3×3 Community Hustle Programs or other programs across the state.
