After a difficult start to the basketball season in 2020, our Under 12 Country Skills Days were a sigh of relief for our regional basketballers to get back on the court over the weekend.

The Under 12 Country Basketball Skills Days are designed to offer players from Country NSW associations the opportunity to receive expert coaching to develop their skills to the highest possible level.

The coaching program concentrates on individual skills that Under 12 players should be able to master before they graduate to the next age group making them ideal for all players.

With 10 locations spread across the state, we had over 300 young, excited kids join us for a fun weekend filled with skills and expert coaching from Basketball NSW Coaching Department and a number of network coaches.

General Manager for Coaching and Development, Brett Coxsedge expressed his excitement to get back on the court and praised the dedication of all our coaches that joined after months of uncertainty.

“After months of rescheduling and planning, we were glad to finally deliver these one-day camps in Griffith, Port Macquarie, Albury, Bathurst, Byron Bay, Gosford, Newcastle, Queanbeyan, Shoalhaven & Tamworth. With the 2020 John Davidson U12 Jamboree canceled for the year, these skills days were the perfect opportunity to keep our country associations engaged and active,” Coxsedge said.

“We are very fortunate in NSW to have such a high number of enthusiastic and dedicated coaches who always put their hands up to assist, and after the fantastic feedback we received, we would like to thank all our coaches and managers for their assistance over the weekend.”

BNSW would like to extend their thank you to all participants and parents for following our Covid-19 Safety Protocols so that our events could go ahead as safely as possible during these difficult times.

The 2020 John Davidson U12 Jamboree has been canceled.
