Basketball NSW is pleased to announce development opportunities for Country athletes in the upcoming School Holidays.

The ever popular Under 12 Skills Days return with eleven (11) camps scheduled across Country NSW. The coaching program concentrates on individual skills that Under 12 players should be able to master before they graduate to the next age group making them ideal for players of any standard from representative to the domestic level.

Unfortunately, this year the John Davidson U12 Jamboree will not proceed. However, a second round of camps will be scheduled in the September school holidays (dates and venues TBA), with other towns targeted to allow more athletes to experience the fun of the Skills Days. It is hoped that the Jamboree will return in 2022 in a new bigger and better-revamped model.

“The Under 12 Skills Days have been the starting point for many athletes over the years,” Brett Coxsedge (Basketball NSW General Manager of Coaching and Development) said.

“Last year was disrupted with COVID, however this year we are looking forward to being able to get out in the regions and touch base with the next crop of up-and-coming superstars!”

The Country Development Program (CDP) will return as well with eight (8) camps scheduled. The CDP camps are open to both male and female players in the U14, U16 and U18 age groups and are designed to assist players from country associations to further their skill and development as athletes.

Opportunities for coaches to attend and assist are also available (an expression of interest can be submitted to the BNSW coaching department).

Registrations are now open for both the U12 Skills Days and CDP Camps.
