BNSW are happy to announce Darryl Connoley as a newly appointed Director replacing Amanda Truong who has severed the role over the last 2.5 years.  Amanda has done a tremendous job on the board as well as serving as the Chair for the Finance and Audit committee.  Under Amanda’s guidance, BNSW has been implementing strong financial management and reporting and she is leaving the Director’s role with a strong balance sheet to build on in years to come.  Amanda is stepping down from the role with her first child due to be born the next couple of months.

Amanda’s decision to step down has allowed the board to formally use the Nominations committee and the newly developed skills matrix for the first time.  A search was undertaken through Australian Institute of Company Directors and Women on Boards for suitable candidates.  Both Websites attracted over 20 suitable candidates.  The nominations committee interviewed 4 candidates.

The Board unanimously passed the motion to accept Darryl Connoley as an appointed Director at the September Board meeting for a 1-year term in line with the constitution.

Darryl will also head up the Finance and audit committee as a Chairperson.  The finance and audit committee includes fellow Directors, Paul Beale, Jenny Dean. CEO Maria Nordstrom and CFO Caroline McLuckie.

Darryl comes to the board with a wealth of experience.  Darryl’s professional career includes Senior Executive roles with the Commonwealth and Macquarie Banks, JP Morgan, Bankers Trust and KPMG.

He is a trained chartered accountant and an internal and external auditor.  Darryl has also worked with risk and risk systems across major businesses.

Please join us in Welcoming Darryl to the Board of Basketball NSW.
