Basketball New South Wales is pleased to announce the appointment of one of the bright young stars of Australian coaching to the position of National Intensive Training Centre Head Coach

Former Australian junior representative and AIS scholarship holder Shannon Seebohm has been appointed to the key high performance post and will commence with BNSW on Monday.

The 2014/15 WNBL Coach of the Year and Sydney University Flames mentor guided the Australian Under 17 Women to the gold medal at the 2015 FIBA Oceania Championships and is regarded as one the nation’s most promising young coaches.

In his short coaching career, Seebohm has enjoyed significant success at the junior and senior level and has been actively involved in player and coach development at school and association level.

A product of the South Australia Country program, Seebohm was a stand-out junior before progressing to the AIS and then gaining a contract with the South Dragons in the NBL.

In making the announcement, BNSW High Performance Manager Robbie Cadee said the appointment was an important one for the ongoing development of young NSW athletes.

“Shannon is a terrific young coach who has forged an impressive reputation at the junior and WNBL level,” Cadee said.

“We are excited to have such a talented young coach join the organisation and help drive the ongoing development of players across the state.”

Seebohm will continue in the role as head coach of the Sydney University Flames as the team looks to build on its finals success of last year.Shannon
