Basketball New South Wales is excited to announce the introduction of two new Community Programs hitting the courts in 2020!

Following a successful application for funding through the Sport Australia’s Move It AUS – Better Ageing grant program, Basketball Australia will be delivering Walking Basketball programs around Australia. BNSW will continue rolling out programs across New South Wales to increase the activity levels, and a fun, safe social way to exercise!

In addition to Walking Basketball, a 3×3 Community Hustle program will also be an initiative that will be running across the state.

MoveItAus – Find Your 30 is all about finding practical ways in which anyone can work half an hour of activity into their day. Sport Aus, Basketball Australia and 3x3Hustle have partnered to create a new fun and exciting program utilising Basketball to facilitate people finding their 30 minutes in a non-traditional basketball setting! Community Hustle has been designed to be fun, flexible and accessible to all whether you are a Basketball tragic or just looking to try something new, Hustle for your 30 is for you.

BNSW’s Community Basketball & Inclusion Officer, Rachel Herrick is thrilled to continue promoting the importance of physical activity across all stages of life using basketball as a key social tool.

“We are really excited to be part of the Move It Aus programs and assist in providing people in NSW new ways to find their 30, particularly focusing on getting inactive people moving in their local communities,” said Herrick.

“With the Inclusion of both programs (Walking Basketball + Community Hustle), we are making our game more accessible to everyone, in convenient locations and a social environment so they can play with their friends in a relaxed and fun on court session.”

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for coaches to deliver these sessions. Please click the image below to register your interest.
