In what has been an unprecedented past few weeks, staying connected has never been as important as it is right now and with most businesses utilising online resources, our High Performance team have discovered a new way to provide support to our basketball community.

While COVID-19 has forced the suspension of many competitions, programs and courses, through the powers of the internet, Coach Development Manager, Jarrod Moore has focused on out of the box thinking when it comes to delivering coaching clinics and courses online.

Currently, Moore has been facilitating weekly webinars with guest coaches from across the globe ranging from NBA, College and International Pro coaches to provide their expertise and says that it is an opportunity to reach all of our coaches without the limitations of distance.

“With the many unparalleled restrictions in place, we really needed a way to continue to bring a sense of normality to our coaches and athletes and through the use of our online webinars, I think it is a great way to entice our coaches to support each other and stay connected with the program,” Moore said.

“We have had a total of 270 coaches tune into these Webinars and the content provided by presenters has been excellent. Feedback from participants has also been very positive over the past month as we have had great support from high profile coaches from all around the world who have aided in creating weekly webinars such as Dave Love, Ganon Baker and Shawn Dennis. It has been wonderful to see how many of our coaches want to further their development and are focused on learning new skills to take back to their associations.”

During this time of uncertainty, BNSW have also concentrated on implementing the numerous online tools to check in with athletes that are in the High Performance programs through the use of daily video workouts and weekly check-ins with the 350+ athletes which has proven to be an effective tool to spark that community connection.
