With a return to sport happening again, never has there been more development opportunities for coaches to hone their craft away from the court.

Basketball NSW has recently updated its coaching pathway document which provides direction for those coaches wanting to gain further experiences in the sport. Whether you are a beginner coach or someone who aspires to coach the Sydney Kings or the Hawks in the NBL, or Sydney Flames in the WNBL, Basketball NSW has many openings for coaches to participate in their programs.

Basketball NSW Coach Development Manager Jarrod Moore is keen to see more coaches get involved in BNSW programs.

“One thing that COVID-19 has shown us is that there is still a thirst out there for coaches who want to get better and continue to learn and develop. We had over 800 coaches who logged on and viewed our coaching webinars during the lockdowns. Now that we are returning to play, coaches have the opportunity to get back on court and put what they have learned into practice.”

Basketball NSW is currently seeking expressions of interest for coaches to be involved in the following programs:

Further coach education courses will also be scheduled the second half of the year, including the Association Coaching Course (formerly known as the Level 2 coaching course).

For more information on the above opportunities and any courses, please don’t hesitate to contact Jarrod Moore (BNSW Coach Education Manager) at jarrod.moore@bnsw.com.au
