The role of the technical officials is to ensure the game is played in a fair and safe manner and within the rules. Refereeing is the most physical active as they are on-court and “call” the game. Other technical officials perform various roles on the scoretable and statistics and further information about each role is given below.

Each year Basketball NSW enters teams into Basketball Australia's National Championships in the U20's, U18', U16', Wheelchair Basketball and for Players with an Intellectual Impairment.

Basketball NSW has partnered with Aussie Basketball Travellers to develop an international basketball tour schedule for 2026.
Basketball NSW has partnered with Aussie Basketball Travellers to develop an international basketball tour schedule for 2025. Aussie Basketball Travellers is in its 25th year of operation having managed and directed over 350 tours. The team has a combined 40+ years of basketball coaching experience in and across Basketball NSW Competitions and State Teams.
2026 promises to be an exciting year for BNSW members with our tour schedule including AAU July Tours, Coaching Development Tours, Specialised Wheelchair Basketball Development Tours and General Member Tours for BNSW Associations.
