January 2021 HPP Events

BNSW Hoopfest

The Basketball NSW Hoopfest is a development tournament that will be run by Basketball NSW. The Hoopfest will give elite junior players the opportunity to compete against the best athletes from NSW Country, NSW Metro and ACT. The tournament also allows coaches and athletes to gain experience in high-level tournament play, preparing for potential involvement in future state teams. This event will also serve as an integral part of the selection process for the U18 State team programs.

What: U16 & U18 Tournament
Where: Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre
When: 4-7 January 2021

Please note players will need to find their own accommodation for the event, as these will not be live in camps.

Basketball NSW will send the following teams:

U16 Country Men – 3 teams 
(consisting of 20 x 2006 born athletes and 10 x 2007 born athletes)

U16 Country Women – 3 teams 
(consisting of 20 x 2006 born athletes and 10 x 2007 born athletes)

U16 Metro Men – 3 teams 
(consisting of 20 x 2006 born athletes and 10 x 2007 born athletes)

U16 Metro Women – 3 teams 
(consisting of 20 x 2006 born athletes and 10 x 2007 born athletes)

U18 Country Men – 2 teams 
(consisting of 20 x 2004/2005 born athletes)

U18 Country Women – 2 teams 
(consisting of 20 x 2004/2005 born athletes)

U18 Metro Men – 2 teams 
(consisting of 20 x 2004/2005 born athletes)

U18 Metro Women – 2 teams 
(consisting of 20 x 2004/2005 born athletes)

BNSW Sand Slam

The Basketball NSW U14s Sand Slam  is a development tournament that will be run by Basketball NSW. The Sand Slam will give the U14 junior players the opportunity to compete against the best athletes from NSW Country, NSW Metro and ACT. The tournament also allows coaches and athletes to gain experience in high-level tournament play, preparing for potential involvement in future High Performance Programs.

What: U14 Tournament
Where: Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre (Manly)
When: 9-11 January 2021
Cost: The cost of the athletes attending this tournament will be +/- $300 approx.

Please note players will need to find their own accommodation for the event, as these will not be live in camps.

Basketball NSW will send the following teams:

U14 Country Men – 32 athletes
U14 Country Women – 32 athletes
U14 Metro Men – 32 athletes
U14 Metro Women – 32 athletes

BNSW Shootout

The BNSW Shootout is targeted at participants identified as potential participants for the following years ACJBC and ECC (and U16 and U18 State team programs), this event is conducted for both boys and girls in the U15 & U17 age groups.

What: U15 & U17 Tournament
Where: Hills Basketball Stadium
When: 16-18 January 2021
Cost: The cost of the athletes attending this tournament will be +/- $300 approx.

U15 Country Men – 16 athletes
U15 Country Women – 16 athletes
U15 Metro Men – 16 athletes
U15 Metro Women – 16 athletes
U17 Country Men – 16 athletes
U17 Country Women – 16 athletes
U17 Metro Men – 16 athletes
U17 Metro Women – 16 athletes
