SYDNEY KINGS HSC PROGRAM

Are you interested in completing Years 11 and 12 while immersed in the basketball, sport and recreation industries? If so, the Sydney Kings HSC Program could be a great option for you.

As a player in NSW, Basketball NSW and the Sydney Kings are pleased to provide you with information about the Sydney Kings NSW HSC Program offered by SEDA College.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

The Sydney Kings HSC Program at SEDA College NSW aims to bring out the best in you.

The College has four key areas that define their approach and sets them apart from other schools:

  • You will learn directly from industry experts and have the opportunity to work at community events and game-day activations for the Sydney Kings
  • You get outside the classroom, learn by doing and undertake activities for Basketball NSW in schools and in the community developing your basketball, coaching, event management, and marketing skills
  • SEDA’s ‘one teacher, one classroom’ model allows teachers to take on a true mentoring approach, where they walk alongside you and support your individual journey
  • An individual career plan, where the focus is on helping you develop key personal qualities and transferable skills to prepare for further study or employment across a range of industries

SEDA College Principal Kate O’Donnell said the organisation was excited to partner with Basketball NSW to help deliver an exciting HSC curriculum that sits ‘outside the box’.

“SEDA College brings a new and exciting model of learning to senior secondary students in NSW, particularly those who love their sport,” O’Donnell said.

Please note a selection process will be conducted by SEDA College NSW staff for students to be accepted into the program. Selection into the Sydney Kings HSC Program is not dependent on sporting ability.

“SEDA has opened my eyes to so many possibilities in the sports industry, which I couldn’t have accessed anywhere else.” – Shannon B, SEDA College NSW student.
