The Basketball NSW U13 Skills Day is a high-quality athlete development program designed to support young players during a critical stage of their basketball journey. Focused on long-term player growth and education, the program provides athletes with the opportunity to learn from experienced Basketball NSW coaches in a challenging, engaging, and supportive environment.
Created specifically for players transitioning between Top-age U12s (2015) and Bottom-age U14s (2014), the Skills Day is designed to help athletes build the technical skills, game understanding, and confidence required for the next level of basketball. Through structured teaching and high-level coaching, participants will develop strong individual foundations while gaining a better understanding of how to train, compete, and perform effectively.

The U13 Skills Day is open to players from both Country and Metropolitan NSW, regardless of playing experience. Whether athletes are new to the game, competing domestically, or already involved in representative basketball, the program is designed to challenge and support players at this stage of their development.
By combining expert coaching with a strong focus on athlete education and long-term development, the Basketball NSW Under-13 Skills Day provides an important opportunity for young athletes to continue building the habits, skills, and understanding needed for future success in basketball.
Each Under 13 Skills Day participant receives:
Under 13 Skills Days run from 9:00am to 3:00pm and parents are welcome to stay for all or part of the days activities.
Cost is $135 (inc GST) and Active Creative Kids vouchers can be used.

If your child falls outside the age range for the program, there are still opportunities for them to participate. Basketball NSW offers various one-day camps through the Leeanne Palmer Country Development Program and Metro Development Program, which take place throughout the year across New South Wales.

It is open to new, existing or elite athletes wanting to better their skills or have a new positive learning experience with the goal of supporting and teaching new and existing athletes skills and concepts required to play basketball at a local, representative or higher level.
U13 Skills Day’s are at the early stage of the Basketball NSW athlete pathway and act as key points for talent identification. These programs are designed to support new and aspiring athletes as they grow. The focus is on building strong fundamental skills, learning team concepts, and helping athletes understand how to apply these skills in real game situations.
Each U13 Skills Day gives athletes a chance to show what they can do in a competitive but welcoming setting. These sessions allow coaches to identify potential talent while giving athletes a place to challenge themselves, learn, and continue their development with confidence.
