BNSW CELEBRATES SUCCESS OF 2024 STATE PERFORMANCE PROGRAM GRADUATION CAMP

Basketball NSW recently held its highly anticipated State Performance Program (SPP) Graduation Camp for the class of 2024, marking a significant milestone in the development of aspiring basketball talents across the state. The event, held at the Hills Basketball Stadium on April 20th and 21st, brought together 160 promising SPP athletes from 29 associations alongside 27 dedicated coaches for an action-packed weekend of learning and camaraderie.

The two-day camp was a dynamic blend of on-court coaching sessions and off-court classroom discussions aimed at refining the athletes’ skills and basketball IQ. From strategic drills to absorbing invaluable insights, the athletes immersed themselves in a comprehensive program designed to elevate their game to the next level.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the event was the graduation ceremony, where the 33 graduating athletes were celebrated for their hard work and dedication throughout their time in the program. Following the ceremony, a friendly game provided a platform for these remarkable athletes to showcase their talent and passion for the game in front of family and friends.

Adding to the excitement were esteemed guest coaches who generously shared their expertise, enriching the camp experience for all involved. Their presence underscored the commitment of the broader basketball community to nurturing talent and fostering growth within the sport.

Reflecting on the success of the Grad Camp, Basketball NSW General Manager of Coaching and Development, Brett Coxsedge, expressed his delight in the 

“I would like to extend a warm congratulations to the graduating athletes who have diligently worked their way through the Basketball NSW High-Performance Program structure over the past few years,” said Coxsedge.

“Their dedication and commitment have truly paid off, and we wish them all the best on the next step of their basketball journeys.”

“Programs like the SPP aren’t possible without the dedication and invaluable support of numerous people and the associations. A sincere thank you to all our volunteer coaches for helping shape the future stars of basketball in NSW throughout the past 12 months.”

With a strong foundation laid at the Graduation Camp, the future of High Performance basketball in NSW shines bright, propelled by the passion and dedication of its athletes and coaches.
