BNSW Schools Tournament

What is the Schools Tournament?

The BNSW School Tournaments consist of regional tournaments for both Primary and Secondary Schools. These tournaments culminate in the top teams from each region competing at the State Championships where the best team from NSW will be crowned. These tournaments are open to all New South Wales schools.

2024 Locations

The tournaments will be held regionally at various venues across multiple days. Leading to the culminating event, State Championships held at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre (30 Herbert Street, Cambridge Park NSW 2747).

Under 16s

All players must be under the age of the nominated age group as at December 31, in that year i.e., cannot turn 16 in 2024.

• 6th & 7th May 2024 at PCYC Wagga Wagga, Wagga Wagga
• 7th & 8 th May 2024 at Sportz Central, Coffs Harbour
• 9 th & 10th May 2024 at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre, Cambridge Park &  The Snakepit Stadium, Gwynneville (Beaton Park Stadium)
• 14th & 15th May 2024 Griffith Regional Sports Centre, Griffith & Maitland Federation Centre, Maitland
• 16th & 17th May 2024 & Bankstown Basketball Stadium, Condell Park&  Bathurst Indoor Sports Stadium, West Bathurst
• 28th & 29th May 2024 – State Championships at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre, Cambridge Park

Primary

Players must be a minimum of eight (8) years of age prior to participating in the Primary Tournament.

• 12th & 13th November 2024 at Griffith Regional Sports Centre, Griffith & Newcastle Basketball Stadium, Broadmeadow
• 14th & 15th November 2024 at Bathurst Indoor Sports Stadium, West Bathurst & Sutherland Basketball Stadium, Sutherland
• 26th & 27th November 2024 – State Championships at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre, Cambridge Park

Entry Fees
BNSW imposes a fee per team for entry into the tournament. The fee includes
referee costs, court hire and administration costs. Note teams are not required to bring any fees with them on the day. BNSW will invoice all participating schools after the close of nominations and teams are confirmed.
