In an exciting collaboration between Basketball NSW and Penrith City Council, we are proud to announce that Penrith City Council will present the 2024 Spalding Waratah Junior Premier League Finals (JPL) and U12’s State Championships. 

This partnership marks a significant milestone in fostering community engagement and promoting the love of basketball within the region.

Set against the backdrop of Penrith’s vibrant sporting landscape, the JPL Finals and U12’s State Championships will take place from the 2nd – 4th of August at Penrith Regional Valley Sports Centre. At different points throughout the weekend, Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium and St. Paul’s Grammar School will serve as secondary venues. This esteemed event promises to showcase the best of junior basketball talent, as teams from across New South Wales converge to compete for glory and honour. 

The Penrith City Council’s support underscores its commitment to nurturing youth development, fostering community spirit, and promoting healthy, active lifestyles among young athletes. By partnering with Penrith City Council, BNSW aims to provide a platform for aspiring basketball stars to shine while also enhancing the overall sporting experience for players, coaches, referees and spectators alike.

Penrith Mayor, Todd Carney expressed Penrith City Council’s enthusiastic support as a proud sponsor of the Spalding Waratah Junior Premier League Finals and U12’s State Championships. 

“We are thrilled to extend our support to this prestigious event, which not only highlights our dedication to sports but also provides an excellent platform to showcase our city’s vibrant spirit,” Cr Carney said.

Basketball NSW, CEO, Maria Nordstrom expressed her excitement in working with Penrith City Council.
