STATE TEAMS | 2017 U18 Head Coaches Announced

11834841_984524108285752_4392698803668428213_oBasketball NSW is pleased to announce, the 2017 U18 Head Coaches for the upcoming Australian Junior Championships to be held in Townsville, April 2017. Given the number of exceptional applicants the selection panel gave great consideration to the accolades and experience of all candidates as well as the future direction of the BNSW program. It is with great pleasure, Basketball NSW would formally like to congratulate the following Under 18 NSW Head Coaches:

• U18 Metro Women – Jenny Lonergan
• U18 Country Women – Martin McLean
• U18 Country Men – Matt Johnston
• U18 Metro Men – Robbie McKinlay

Basketball NSW State Coach and Development Manager Nathan Kirwan credits the qualitiesMarty in all Jenny, Martin, Matt and Robbie for their appointment as Head Coaches.

“I am really pleased to be able to have four enthusiastic and experienced coaches to lead our U18’s this year. All four have had a range of basketball experiences ranging from the NBL to previous successful National Championships. It is great to have such high quality individuals to mentor our elite junior players in NSW.

All four coaches embody the core values of what the High Performance Department wish to achieve. Basketball NSW is thrilled to have these individuals as head of the coaching staff, representing New South Wales on the National stage.

MattRobbie-McKinlayREMINDER FOR U18 TRIAL DATES – COUNTRY & METRO

Country Men Trials – The trials will be held at Scholastic Sports Stadium situated on Duffys Rd, Terrigal NSW 2260 from 7pm on Friday the 4th to 8am Sunday the 6th of November.

Metro Men Trials –  The trials will be held at SHORE high school, situated on Blue Street, North Sydney on Wednesday 2nd of November 7pm to 8.30pm

Country Women Trials – TBC

Metro Women Trials –  The trials will be held at Trinity Grammar Senior School situated on 171 Victoria Street, Ashfield on Tuesday 8th and Monday 14th November 7 – 8.30pm
